What is Success?

In human terms, success is not a series of steps that leads to a peak or an ultimate. Rather, success is a continuous effort that results in continuous victories. There is no stopping point in success, it is an unending venture. In simple terms, success is to keep winning.

Anyone who wants to be a success must be ready for serious business. Such a person must be ready for sacrifices. In other words, you have to pay the price to get the prize. The prize belongs to those who are ready to pay the price. Why? This is because there is no end. Till your journey ends on earth, you have to be prepared to keep winning.

From the book of 1 Samuel 17, Goliath had been a warrior right from his youth. In other words, he had fought and won many battles. He was not a novice at all when it comes to fighting. No wonder he defied the army of Israel. In fact, the Bible calls him the champion of the Philistines (1 Samuel 17:23). However, a day came when he became food for the birds of the air. He came down crashing within seconds and after that moment, he was no longer celebrated. If you want to be celebrated, you have to be ready to fight!

Success is not for a lazy man. It is not for those who love sleep. It is not for those who cannot tame their appetite. It is for men, and not for boys. It is for strong men, not strong boys. Sometimes, it may be hard, but you have to do it. Success is for those who can create boundaries for themselves if none exists.

At this point, I would want you to note that a man may not win every time but still remain a success. Proverbs 24:16 says he might fall seven times, but he will rise again. Successful people are those who can manage temporary defeats. They keep bouncing back. They are ever resilient. Can’t you see that success is beautiful?

Now, the question to ask yourself is, ‘Am I interested?’. Are you ready for the price? In the English dictionary, ‘price’ comes before ‘prize’. Why? This is because it is a simple truth. Are you interested? Your interest is essentially fundamental and an underlying part of any other success block.
